Auth Consulting & Associates has been providing innovative engineering services for over 20 years. As our employees grew from two people in 1995 to the 27 employees we have today, our services have also grown to meet the engineering and regulatory challenges that affect our clients – wherever they are located. Planning, engineering, building design, and surveying; AC/a is there providing the personalized service and innovative solutions you’ve come to expect– that will never change!

Did you know that AC/a can handle your Land Surveying needs too?

Auth Consulting & Associates is probably best known for their engineering services. However, AC/a has been providing land surveying services almost as long as they have been providing engineering services.

AC/a started providing land surveying services in 1997, only a few short years after starting the business.  With the purchase of S&N Land Surveying, AC/a added a land surveying division to the business.  Since then S&N Land Surveying has continued running its operations out of the AC/a branch office in Hudson, WI.

Then in 2015 AC/a purchased Nelsen Land Surveying, a local business right in Menomonie, WI.  With surveyors now located in Menomonie we are now able to cover a larger territory of counties and turn requests around quicker.

Together the two divisions are made up of 5 Professional Land Surveyors and 2 field crew members.  With over 30 years of experience in the business, our surveyors are able to bring their expertise and knowledge of the counties to every job.

Project Highlights - from our recent graduates

River Prairie Event Center

Andrew Entenza - recent UW-Platteville graduate

Recently AC/a had the opportunity to design the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems of the new River Prairie Event Center under coordination with River Valley Architects. River Prairie Event Center is a 9,000 square foot multi-function building located in Altoona Wisconsin. It provides indoor and outdoor space for both public and private events along with office space for the City of Altoona.

The project provided its own unique challenges with designing systems that functioned with the different building occupancies and the open architectural floor plan.

The River Prairie Event Center project was designed and completed by Dale Adams and Kyle Gilles, with the help of one of our newest employees, Andrew Entenza.

“The Event Center was a great learning experience for a complete multi-discipline design project of this size. I had the chance to design using REVIT, a 3D design program, for the first time. It greatly helped me to visualize how the complex HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical systems of the full scale building would come together before it is ever even built, " stated Andrew.

Float Glass Plant

Mike Woodcock - recent CVTC graduate

One of the most interesting projects that Mike said he has had to work on has been a Float Glass Plant. AC/a provided design work on several different projects on a glass factory site from a hot end control room, conduit layout, storm water system, to a furnace glass drain.  When asked what the most challenging part of the project was Mike felt it was the amount of daily changes that could occur.  "Literally something can change every day having multiple people involved in one project and it gets to be a real challenge to juggle all the components and keep things moving forward, " said Mike.

Of all the projects going on at the factory, the furnace glass drain was the most interesting to him. The entire process runs for nearly 2 days and cleans out almost 1,200 tons of molten glass from the worn furnace refractory material. The molten glass flows into a designated containment area which is then unusable for production. He learned many things about a glass factory plant while working on this project and what goes on inside the factory.  Mike hopes to continue with additional projects like this in the future, because he was able to learn new skills and learn how to overcome design challenges.

AC/a is excited to watch our new talent at the company grow and learn new technologies along the way.  We look forward to continuing to help them develop their skills and learning from them as well.  Keep up the good work!
