Structural Steel Design
An existing wood framed weather enclosure over a dewatering press did not provide adequate clearance or safety tie off attachments for servicing the dewatering press. A new steel support structure with additional height clearance and safety tie off points had to be designed to fit and connect to existing supports with tight physical constraints and clearances. Preferred Sands, Miron Construction, Blair, WI.
Limited clearances and support steel locations required the steel design to include equipment operation, employee safety and equipment service components.
AC/a designed a steel support structure to accommodate the limited clearance and space constraints as well as being easy for field installation. Employee safety and equipment removal features were also included in the design.
